March 8, 2022Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) represent a major risk for college students. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in five people in the U.S. currently has an STI and young people aged 15-24 are among the highest-risk group for acquiring an STI. The stigma that can surround STIs may also create barriers to traditional testing at a doctor’s office or health clinic.
We believe that the needs of students are unique and binx health has teamed up with student health insurer Wellfleet to address this critical public health concern by providing expanded access to testing. The STI programs that are powered by binx will enable students from all colleges and universities offering Wellfleet student health insurance access to testing through the binx everywhere at-home and in-dorm digital platform.
The program provides increased access to confidential and convenient high-quality diagnostic testing. Wellfleet Student members can discreetly request STI testing through the binx everywhere digital platform for in-home or in-dorm sample collection.
